- DO paint bedrooms dark blue – research has shown that buyers will pay nearly $1,500 more for a home if the bedrooms are painted a deep, dark blue since it promoted a cozy, more relaxed feeling.
- DO paint exterior walls gray or neutral – prospective buyers find it easier to imagine what a home would be like to live in when the exterior walls are painted gray or a neutral color.
- DO paint living rooms gray – quieter, neutral tones such as a light shade of gray are the top preference of prospective home buyers. Other colors to consider include light green, light yellow, and white.
